What this site collects, and what happens to it.

Craftvane is a sole proprietorship operated by Yevheniy Lapshov in San Jose, California. This page describes craftvane.com specifically, not a generic template. If something here is unclear, email jay@craftvane.com and ask.

The short version. This site runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no tracking scripts. It sets no cookies of its own. The only information collected is what you type into a form or a chat window, plus the ordinary server records any website keeps. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone except the handful of services listed below that are needed to run the site.

Deliberate

What you send on purpose

01

The quote form. Your name, business name, email, and whatever you write in the message field. It goes to Netlify's form service and is emailed to jay@craftvane.com.

02

The free audit form. Your website address, name, email, any competitors you list, and your notes. Same path: Netlify, then my inbox. The website address is also used to actually fetch and test your site, which is the point of the audit.

03

The chat window. Whatever you type is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a reply. Your conversation is not written to a database here. It lives in your browser tab and disappears when you close it.

04

Booking a call through the chat. If you ask the chatbot to book a time, it writes your name, email, and a short note into a Google Calendar event on my calendar. That is how I know who I am meeting. No confirmation email is sent to you by the system, so save the time yourself.

Automatic

What gets collected without you doing anything

01

Server records. Netlify, the host, logs the ordinary things a web server logs: IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser type. I do not build profiles from this and mostly never look at it.

02

The audit counter. When you run the free audit, the tool keeps a per-day tally so nobody can point it at one site thousands of times. That tally is keyed on a one-way hash of your IP address plus the date, not the address itself, so what gets stored cannot be read back as an address and yesterday's key does not match today's. It records a count and nothing else, not the site you entered.

03

reCAPTCHA on the forms. Google's spam check runs on the two forms. Google collects device and behavior signals to decide whether you are a bot, under Google's own privacy policy. This is the one third-party script on the site, and it is there because without it the forms fill with junk.

04

Fonts, and what changed. The typefaces used to load from Google Fonts, which meant Google's server saw your IP address on every page load. They are now served from this site instead, so that no longer happens. Noting it here rather than quietly deleting the line, because a privacy page that only ever describes the current state tells you nothing about whether it is maintained.

05

One local flag. Your browser stores a single value, cv_lm_seen, so a popup you have already dismissed does not reappear. It is stored on your device, not sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data removes it.

06

A daily counter. The chatbot counts total requests per day, sitewide, to cap runaway cost. It is a single number. It is not tied to you.

Third parties

Everyone who touches your information

Running the site

Infrastructure

  • Netlify, hosting, server logs, and form submissions
  • Google reCAPTCHA, spam filtering on both forms
  • Zoho Mail, where email to jay@craftvane.com lands

Running the chat

The assistant

  • Anthropic, processes chat messages to generate replies, under Anthropic's API terms
  • Google Calendar, holds a booked call and the name, email, and note attached to it
  • No transcript store, no chat history database, no replay of your conversation

Straight talk

What does not happen here

01

Nothing is sold or rented. Not your email, not your form submission, not anything else. There is no advertising business on the other end of this site.

02

No analytics and no ad pixels. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no heatmap recorder, no session replay. If that changes, this page changes with it.

03

No mailing list you did not ask for. Submitting a form gets you a reply about that request and, for the audit, one short follow-up. That is the whole sequence.

04

Nothing is used to train an AI model by me. Anthropic's handling of API data is governed by their terms, which you should read if it matters to you. I do not feed your messages into anything.

How long things are kept

Form submissions sit in Netlify and in my email until I delete them. In practice, a quote or audit request stays while the conversation is live and for a reasonable stretch afterward in case you come back. Chat conversations are not retained here at all. A booked calendar event stays on my calendar. Server logs age out on Netlify's own schedule, which is short.

Asking me to delete it

Email jay@craftvane.com and say what you want removed. I will delete the form submission and the email thread and tell you when it is done. There is no form to fill out and no verification runaround, because this is one person with a normal-sized inbox.

California

Craftvane is small enough that the California Consumer Privacy Act's thresholds almost certainly do not reach it, so this page does not claim to be a CCPA notice. It does not matter much in practice: if you want to know what I have on you, or want it deleted, ask and I will do it. I do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.

Children

This is a site selling websites to businesses. It is not directed at children and I do not knowingly collect anything from them.

If you become a client

Everything above is about visiting craftvane.com. Once I am building your site or running your automation, different information is involved, including data about your customers. That is covered separately on the data handling page, which also answers the HIPAA question if you run a medical or dental practice.

Changes

If what the site does changes, this page gets updated and the date at the top moves. I will not quietly add tracking and leave a stale policy up.
